UAL is the largest specialist art and design university in Europe, offering a wide range of art, design, fashion, communication, media and performing arts courses at pre-degree, undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
If you are a non-EU student at an international school, you can usually be interviewed in Switzerland by one of our travelling academic staff. For EU nationals arrangements may differ depending on the course you are applying to. Please speak with your school counsellor for further advice.
School counsellors who wish to make further enquiries about the interview processes, can contact the UAL Partnership and Liaison team.
Events in your country
Our academic staff visit Switzerland to give students an opportunity to meet us in person, find out about studying at UAL, learn about preparing a portfolio, and discuss your application.
If you’d like to hear about future UAL events in Switzerland, sign up to our mailing list.
For pre-degree and undergraduate applications, if you are successful in the interview you will receive an offer in person. If the interviewer cannot offer you a place on your first choice course, they may advise you on other suitable courses across UAL's six Colleges or recommend ways you can improve your work so that you can reapply at a later date.
For some postgraduate courses, our academic staff can make offers in person. For other courses, they will make a recommendation to the College you are applying for.
UAL currently charge two different rates of tuition fees: the lower Home/EU fee and the higher overseas fee. Tuition fees vary depending on your chosen course, and cover the cost of teaching and the use of facilities. For a list of fees for each study level, visit our Tuition Fees page. We also offer a wide range of scholarships and bursaries.
Immigration & Visas
Students from countries outside the European Economic Area (EEA) and Switzerland, who are not already living in the UK, may need a visa to enter and study at UAL.
